MUAY THAI VICTORIA
May 17

Raff
Raff had an impressive performance in his third fight against a tough opponent. After settling into the fight and finding success with his long jab, he began to take control of the exchanges. Raff found his rhythm in the clinch, remained calm under pressure, and landed plenty of strong leg kicks along with some clean high kicks throughout the bout. Fatigue started to set in by the third round, but Raff had already done enough work to secure the win

Ben
Ben made his return to the ring after 2 years away, and his first fight representing Strike Studio.
Ben came out in style and stuck to the game plan, looking to let the hands go early. His opponent made things difficult with strong defence and long kicks, which kept Ben working hard throughout the fight.
Unfortunately it was not enough to get the win this time, but we are proud to have had him back in the ring and we hope to see Ben back out there again soon.

Jayden
This was Jayden’s second professional fight representing Strike Studio, and he put on a strong performance from start to finish.
Jayden wasted no time establishing his vicious leg kicks early, causing visible damage and slowing his opponent down as the fight went on. He mixed things up well throughout the bout, entering the clinch confidently and landing several clean head kicks along the way.
After a dominant performance across all rounds, Jayden secured the unanimous points decision victory.
A tough fight for Jayden, who unfortunately walked away with a broken nose, but a huge display of heart and composure in the ring.

Sang
Sang stepped back into the ring for the second time in just a month, showing plenty of heart and determination.
His opponent used well timed teeps throughout the fight to keep Sang at range and make it difficult for him to settle into his rhythm. Despite that, Sang still managed to land some clean weapons of his own, including several strong knees.
Of course, Sang also attempted the rolling thunder once again. Unfortunately it did not land this time, but it definitely kept the crowd entertained.
A tough outing for Sang, but another valuable experience and always exciting to watch in the ring.

We had Justin come down from CPG combat physio group to teach us all about Head and Shoulder injuries.
This was such an informative event for us here at Strike Studio. We had an awesome turnout and learnt so much about concussions, what they are, how they occur, and what we can do to help prevent them.
We also explored shoulder injuries, why they are so common in Muay Thai, and learnt practical exercises to build strength, resilience, and confidence in these vulnerable areas.
A huge thank you to Justin for presenting this information to us and everyone who came along and helped make it such a valuable afternoon

We are all doing shoulder shrugs here

TRAIN AROUND YOUR INJURY
June 19
Most injuries don't mean you have to stop training; they just mean you need a smarter plan

We are bringing in Tom from Combat Sports Consulting, a physiotherapist who specialises exclusively in combat sports athletes and trains Muay Thai himself. In this free seminar at Strike Studio, he'll break down what's actually safe to keep doing when you're injured, how to adapt your training so you don't lose everything you've built, and what a real return-to-sparring plan looks like with clear milestones, not guesswork.
You can now book through Clubworx.

Sara
More About Sara
Sara first discovered Muay Thai after returning from an overseas trip, wanting to learn self defence.
Little did she know, one class would turn into a passion!
After spending 2 years living in Thailand and competing there twice, Sara eventually moved back to Melbourne and found her way to Strike. Since then, she has truly become a part of the community, attending seminars, fight days, and supporting the gym wherever she can. We absolutely love having her here!
Sara is keen to show everyone what she is capable of in competition this year,
and we cannot wait to watch her bring the heat.

EDUCATION

INTRODUCING...

As Strike Studio continues to grow, we now have a wider range of members sparring together - from complete beginners to experienced fighters and athletes visiting from other gyms. Because of this, it is important that everyone shares the same expectations, approach, and standard when sparring. We have put together a Sparring Etiquette Guideline to help create a safe, respectful, and productive training environment for everyone involved. These principles are designed to help members learn faster, train smarter, and ensure that all students can enjoy sparring confidently and safely.
