TEENS CLASSES

Commencing January 5th

Our Teen Muay Thai classes are designed specifically for young Nak Muay aged 12–17 years.
We’ve now separated Teens from Kids classes to ensure students are training with partners of similar size, strength, and maturity, creating a safer and more effective learning environment.

As part of this update, Teen classes have been extended to a full 1 hour, giving students more time to develop their skills, conditioning, and confidence (compared to the previous 45 minute Kids classes).

🗓 Teen Classes commence Monday, January 5th
📍 Schedule: Monday, Wednesday & Friday
⏰ Time: 5:00–6:00pm

If you are a teen currently training in adult classes on an adult membership, you are more than welcome to continue and will not be required to move into the Teen program.

However, if you would prefer to transition into the Teen classes while on an adult membership, simply let our Reception team know in person or via email, and we’ll organise the change for you.

If you have any questions or would like help deciding which option is best,
our team is happy to chat and guide you 👍

More about Luke...

Before Muay Thai, Luke trained in Kyokushin Karate. A full contact martial art where body shots are the focus and head kicks are fair game. After taking more than a few head kicks, he realised he needed to sharpen his defence and evolve. That led him to Muay Thai and he's now three years into his Muay Thai journey.

Originally Luke's kids trained Karate whilst he was working on his laptop from the side-lines. He had expressed chest pain to the Sensei and was told that Karate will fix it. Luke took his word for it and it WORKED!

In the gym, Luke is always encouraging others and leads by example, not just for his training partners, but for his three kids who also train with us. A true superdad. At 50 years old, Luke says he feels like he’s in the best shape of his life.

Outside the gym, he enjoys fishing, learning how to squid, and snowboarding, including trips to Japan.

He credits Muay Thai for improving his balance, strength, and overall fitness on the mountain.

"First time doing 2 fights in 1 day, I couldn’t pulled out because I hadn’t had the greatest health leading up. These fights meant a lot to me because I pushed through harder than I could imagine and this photo was from the second fight and I may have been exhausted but my corner helped me to push harder and I'm bloody proud of my achievement from that day because I proved myself wrong but did my coaches proud to!"

DID YOU KNOW?

What is Songkran?

Songkran is the traditional Thai New Year, celebrated every April, and it is one of the
most important cultural events in Thailand.

The word Songkran comes from an ancient Sanskrit term meaning to move or change place. Referring to the sun’s transition into a new zodiac position. Symbolically, it represents the passing of the old year and the welcoming of a new one.

Water is central to Songkran because it represents purification, renewal, life and continuity.
At its core, Songkran is about renewal, cleansing and gratitude.

image.png

Where did Songkran come from?

Historically, Songkran was a quiet and deeply respectful celebration in Thailand. To recieve blessings for the future ahead. Thai people would

  • Clean their family home

  • Travel back to their hometowns

  • Visit temples to make merit

  • Pour scented water over Buddha

image.png

Songkran Today!

Today, Songkran still carries those same meanings, but the celebration has expanded into a nationwide festival. Alongside temple visits and family rituals, streets fill with music, laughter and water celebrations as people joyfully splash one another to symbolically wash away the past year and welcome a fresh start. While the atmosphere is more lively and playful, the heart of Songkran remains the same: honouring tradition, community and new beginnings in Thailand.

You have the chance to experience this years Songkran festival if you join us on our next Thai Trip!
