SINBI BOXING STADIUM
Apr 4

Surprise surprise! That's right! Coach Chris made an appearance in the ring during the most recent Thai Trip!
After over 10 YEARS since his last professional fight. Coach Chris finally pulled it off.
After a tough first round, getting struck with his opponent's high kicks. Coach Chris recovered quickly and found a weakness in his opponent...the LEG KICK! After Coach Chris landed a few head kicks himself, the round was finally over after a KO in the second round via leg kick!
We hope to see Coach Chris in the ring again with a much shorter gap in between!

We are all so very proud of Jack’s performances.

Lucas
More about Lucas
Lucas first discovered Muay Thai when he found himself growing bored with regular weightlifting. After a friend who trained in the sport encouraged him to try a session at Strike Studio, he quickly became hooked and has been locked in ever since. What stands out most to Lucas about Muay Thai is the strong sense of community, the support from the coaches, and the overall fitness it provides. He credits the coaches as a major reason he continues to show up, while the welcoming environment makes him feel right at home. Outside of the gym, Lucas enjoys snowboarding and has a passion for graffiti/street art. “It shall pass”, which came from his first snowboarding coach, reminding him that tough times are temporary and things will always get better.

WHAT IS A SAK YANT?
Have you ever noticed a fighter with an interesting, ancient-looking tattoo? Or maybe a coach or fellow member with something similar? Chances are, you have been looking at a Sak Yant tattoo (the 't' is actually silent, being 'yan', with the vowel sounding like the English word 'bun'). It is a sacred form of body art originating from Thailand, deeply rooted in Buddhist and animist traditions. The term itself breaks down into two parts; "Sak" meaning to tap or tattoo, and "Yant" derived from "Yantra", meaning a mystical geometric design used for protection and spiritual power.
More Than a Tattoo
Unlike modern tattoos, Sak Yant is traditionally applied by a Monk or Ajarn (master practitioner) using a long metal rod or bamboo needle. The process is often performed in a temple or sacred space, accompanied by chanting and ritual. Each tattoo is hand-tapped, blessed with prayers, and carefully designed with specific spiritual purposes in mind.
